[lounj] (noun) : a room in a private home or public building for leisure activities.
In our case, the leisure activities are the viewing and reviewing of independent film, video, and other art — including books and music — from around the world. We also test and review some of the technology we use to get our stories told! Everything relevant to the world of indie film creators and fans, that’s what we’re about. Only, you know…leisurely!
Independent film appreciation is a lifestyle. A trendsetting, culture-influencing lifestyle. If you’re like us, while everyone else is piling into multiplexes to see blockbusters, you’re finding a small obscure art house on the other side of town to see a film. That film may or may not even be in your native language.
We know it’s tough getting films made, and sometimes harder to get them seen. So we built the lounge as a place to appreciate the art and culture of the scene. Now, not every film we discuss here will have been made for 15 dollars on an iPhone. Some are even from small divisions from major studios and may even have big stars in them. But they’ll probably not be the same five films everyone else is blogging about.
